Prof. (Dr.) Jyotirmaya Mohapatra did his M.S. in Business Administration from State University, KANSAS, USA and Ph.D in Management from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
He started his career with COAL INDIA LIMITED as a Management Trainee and served for 17 years in various capacities and went on to head the HRD department. (1976-93)
During this period, he was also adjunct faculty at BIT, Mesra and Xavier Institute of Social Science, Ranchi.
He joined Sambalpur University as founder Professor and HOD of Department of Business Administration in 1993.
He served Sambalpur University for 16 years, during which he was Chairman, P.G. Council (Pro-Vice Chancellor) and Vice Chancellor (In-charge) during 2007-2008.
He joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 1st May 2009 for 1 year before joining IBCS as Dean, Faculty of Management, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University
He has produced 7 PhD scholars and has about 40 widely acclaimed research papers to his credit.
He has intensively conducted MDPs and rendered consultancy to organizations like OMFED, LIC, Orissa Sponge Iron, HINDALCO etc.
He has served ICFAI Business school from 2004 to 2007 as Professor and Centre Head and has received Performance Award for development and growth of IBS, Bhubaneswar Center.
He has been visiting Professor to 60 Business Schools and University Management Departments.
He is in the Panel of Experts of AICTE, UGC and UPSC.
